Status of Wholesale | Effective Immediately
Tennessee Peanut Company has strived to offer wholesale options to stores around the country since our inception in the Fall of 2019. There are many of you, both local and far away, who adopted our products upon first sight without question, and we are so thankful to you for that! Without you, I would still be selling peanuts out of my pickup truck, and trying to make ends meet with a new family at home! That said - we have come to find our limitations over and over again with the wholesale program - and it is undeniably a strain on the business model - and your expectations. The demand has been plentiful - overwhelming to be exact. People around the world have embraced our product and shared loads of reviews and love, and we have many of you to thank for that.
Unfortunately, the world's supply of peanuts during COVID-era has not been nice. We're still the little guy on the bottom of the rung as far as supply priority - and when you mix that with a record low peanut crop, the results just aren't in favor of us. As a result - we are going to focus on our retail and a few local stores around Nashville for customer convenience - and go about this the economical way. Instead of trying to supply the county, we're going to supply our home city with a few core stores- and expand out from there slowly. All those childhood years of The Tortoise and The Hare are finally coming to fruition in practice, and I can confidently say the lesson is learned; 'slow and steady wins the race'.
If you've purchased products from us to sell in your store within the past few years, please know your dollars spent directly impacted my family at a time when we needed it most, at the beginning of our journey with little one's interrupting every few minutes - and us having no idea what we were doing, having never operated a business before. What started with a bag of peanuts and a lot of hope has taken us on such an amazing ride ever since. We are passionate about small business- the local community - the local economy, and we will continue to look forward to a day when we can get back to local shelves without extended issues or delays.
If you have purchased products from us within the past month, please know your shipment is in transit or will be leaving the warehouse today for shipment as a partial or complete order.
